Air temperature  and humidity as not so critical for setting time of IMPRESSION PLASTER, ALGINATE, SILICON RUBBER impression materials BUT are critical for ZOE and POLYSULFIDE RUBBER impression material. 

Cleft Lip & Palate-

Cleft lip and primary palate form at 4-5 wk gestation period

Secondary palate form at 9 wk gestation period

Treatment-

Primary lip closure-  follow RULE OF 10's
Repair of palate - 12-18th month of age 
Interceptive orthodontics - 5-7 yr 
Bone grafting of alveolar clefts - 9-11yr 
Comprehensive orthodontics + orthognathic surgery- after 12 yr of age

RULE OF 10's for repair of cleft lip -
                                                            Infant should be >= 10 wk old
                                                                                         >= 10g/dl Hg
                                                                                         >= 10 lb
 

Osteomyelitis-

  • Osteopetrosis
  • Late stage of Paget's disease 
  • Radiations 
  • Decrease vascularity of bone 

HYPERCEMENTOSIS -

  • Occlusal trauma 
  • Acromegaly
  • Paget's disease
  • Arthritis
  • Calcinosis
